ADP ezLaborManager Replacement

I've talked to several prospective customers lately who are looking for a new time & attendance system to replace ADP ezLaborManager. Their first issue is the expense; being charged several dollars per employee every month, month after month, is starting to get expensive. They're looking for a time clock software solution they can buy outright. Their second issue is they don't like feeling trapped into continuing to use ezLaborManager because they think they'll lose integration with ADP payroll. Virtual TimeClock is a great solution for both of these issues.

First of all, Virtual TimeClock is a one-time license fee based on computer connections rather than per employee who needs to use the time clock. So a company that wants to run a time clock on 10 individual computer workstations will pay more than a company that can manage with running a time clock on 2 computers in places of convenient access to all employees. Secondly, Virtual TimeClock integrates perfectly with ADP Pay eXpert online payroll. So there's really no need to continue paying high and ongoing fees for your employee time & attendance.

LionClock Replacement

We still get occasional calls from businesses looking for a LionClock replacement. They're usually a little frustrated because they can't get ahold of any of the folks at LionClock, and according to their website their last time clock software update was 2011. It looks like the publishers of LionClock got themselves into some trouble with another time & attendance software company over trademark infringement.

If you're a former or current LionClock user looking for a new time clock software solution, then I'd encourage you to take a look at Virtual TimeClock. I know it will meet all your time & attendance needs. You can download the free time clock software trial anytime.

Seattle Mandatory Paid Sick Leave

Beginning September 1, 2012, the City of Seattle will require all but the smallest employers to provide paid sick leave to their Seattle employees. The sick leave rules under the new law may differ based on the size of the company's workforce. Time clock software can help you comply with several key rules of the new Paid Sick Leave law. Here's what you need to look for when researching time and attendance systems.

Paid Sick Leave Accrual - Time clock software that allows you to accrue leave time based on hours actually worked. For example, employees can earn at least one hour of accrued paid leave time for each 40 hours worked. We call this a calculated accrual.

Carryover of Unused Sick Leave Hours - Time clock software that allows you to keep separate track of unused leave hours that need to be carried over into the next benefit year. This should be separate from paid leave hours accrued during the current benefit year.

Our Virtual TimeClock software allows you to completely track all types of paid and unpaid leave, including both accrual and use. Download a free time clock software trial to check it out for yourself.

Are Your Employee Time Cards Accurate?

Time clock software programs are designed to accurately and impartially record employee hours and display those hours clearly and automatically for any given payroll period. There are few things more disconcerting to new time clock software users than to see an occasional employee time card that appears to have a one or two-minute difference between the daily hours worked and the total hours worked for the period.

Getting Started Using Employee Time Clock Software

There are many reasons businesses choose to begin using employee time clock software. The two most common are to make the payroll process more efficient and to hold employees accountable for their time and attendance. Processing payroll is a labor and time intensive activity that contributes nothing to the bottom line of your business, and yet it's indispensable for keeping your business operating smoothly. Gathering timecards from a mechanical punch clock or collecting paper timesheets, adding up all the employee payroll hours with a calculator, applying different overtime rules, and converting the hours worked to decimal format for easier payroll entry all require a tremendous amount of time and effort, every single payroll period. Employee time clock software can help consolidate or even eliminate most of these procedures.

Choosing the Best Payroll Time Clock Software

It is not unusual to spend hours collecting and totaling employee time cards each payroll period. Hand written time sheets are usually filled out the day before payroll is due, and time cards from a mechanical or electric time clock are usually full of hand written notes explaining missed or late punches. All of those notes have to be deciphered, interpreted, and corrected before payroll can be processed. This just increases the time and effort required to prepare payroll for input into your payroll software, or sent to your accountant or payroll service. Payroll time clock software makes it easy to go from time clock to paycheck in a few simple steps by automating your payroll process. So whether you choose to outsource your payroll processes or keep them in-house, the best payroll time clock software will help you avoid labor intensive payroll processing by instantly applying your business payroll rules, generating accurate payroll reports, quickly exporting your payroll data, and automatically archiving your payroll records.

Computer Time Clock Software is the Best Choice For Time and Attendance Tracking

The 1990s were an important era for small businesses as more and more companies embraced the new Computer Age birthed by wide spread acceptance of the Internet and moved their business practices to a digital format. This age has often been characterized by the ability to freely transfer information, and to have instant access to information that would have been difficult to find or retrieve before. General ledgers, employee payroll, and banking were quickly moved from labor intensive paper bookkeeping to electronic storage and processing. Time and attendance practices followed the trend as computer time clock software started to replace mechanical punch clocks. Software based time and attendance systems greatly reduced the amount of time needed to prepare employee time cards for payroll processing by automatically totaling employee hours and overtime. Time card software also reduced the reliance on mechanical or electronic punch clocks that were subject to failure and expensive to replace or repair. This shift has allowed business owners to reap the benefits of reduced operating costs because computer time clock software is inexpensive, east to maintain, increases employee accountability, is efficient, and makes payroll processing easy.

Computer Time Clock Software for Punch Clock Replacement

When the first employee punch clock was invented in 1888, its only purpose was to record the time employees entered and left the factory. The date and time information stamped on the original timecard gave the factory owner an official record of the time worked by each employee. Today, punch clocks are expensive to buy, difficult to maintain, reduce employee accountability, are inefficient, and make payroll processing difficult. In our current technologically advanced business environment, computer time clock software is the best choice for punch clock replacement.

Employee Time Clock Software Benefits

A traditional timesheet allows employees to record when they start and end specific tasks. For some employees, this just amounts to starting work in the morning and punching out at the end of the day. For others, this may involve keeping detailed start and end times for various activities, projects, or jobs throughout the day. Whatever your business needs, time and attendance software allows your employees to record this information much more easily, accurately, and objectively. Employee computer time clock software can help lower the operating costs of your business by making payroll processing more efficient, ensuring attendance compliance, making labor costs more visible so you can lower them if necessary, and helping automate the billing or invoicing of your clients.
